It only took Pat Kane 2:35 seconds to score his first goal in his home town, but that would be the only goal the Chicago Blackhawks would get as they go on to lose to the Sabres 3-1. The Sabres scored two goals in the second period, a PP goal by Vanek, and an even strength goal by Drew Stafford. Pominville added an empty net goal in the third, as time ran down.
-The Sabres now have a three game win streak, and move 2 games over .500.
-Hometown favorite Pat Kane scored his 8th goal of the season, and has 31 points overall to lead all rookies, 6 ahead of teammate Jonathon Toews.
-Sabres next game is Wedneday against the Islanders in Long Island.
